John G Hauer, Sr.

John Gregory Hauer Sr. passed away on December 7, 2025, in Wadena, Minnesota. He was born on January 13, 1943, in Northfield, Minnesota, to Ambrose and Ann (Streiff) Hauer.

John graduated with the Class of 1961 from Burnsville High School. Shortly thereafter, he was drafted into the United States Army, where he served with distinction and held top security clearance while working on the Persing Missile Project.

In February of 1967 John married his first wife Jane that he was married to for 17 years. They had their first child Marge in August of 1967 and then had their second child Bob in December 1968. 

John bought his first farm in 1969 in Prior Lake, Minnesota.

John later on ended up getting remarried to Nancy Cody on December 28th 1985. Together they built a life filled with love and laughter and were blessed with two sons, John Jr in January 1987 and Jake in September 1988.

In May of 1999, John and his family moved to their dream farm near Verndale, Minnesota. There he found great joy in farming and spending time outdoors. He had a passion for tinkering on old Allis Chalmers tractors and caring for animals. His playful spirit was evident in the way he brought humor into everyday life—especially when chasing Nancy around the house.

John was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who cherished time spent with his loved ones. His dedication to family and his enduring sense of humor and kindness left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

John is preceded in death by his parents; siblings: Jim Hauer and Evie Fahlstrom

John will be remembered by his beautiful bride of 40 years Nancy; children: Margie (Bill) Brown-Hauer, Bob (Tammy) Hauer, John (Selena) Hauer, Jake Hauer (Girlfriend Nicole Schaefer) 10 grandchildren,  14 great-grandchildren; siblings Ambrose (Jackie) Hauer, Bernie (Stan) Hoium, Joan (Kenny) Dille, Jerry (Diane)Hauer, Andy (Karen) Hauer and Ann Marie (Eric) Wilson; many nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
