JoAnn Marie Tverberg, 72, born 04/04/1952 to Walter and Florence Dais of Eureka, SD, lost her battle to cancer on 12/22/2024 at her home in Frazee, MN.
JoAnn grew up in Eureka, South Dakota. In August of 1969, she had her first child, Sherry Kay. In November of 1970, she married Ken Trautmann and had two more children, Cathy Lynn in October of 1971 and Christine Ann in July of 1973. They later divorced. While employed at Barrel of Fun in Perham, MN, she met her second husband, Thomas Tverberg. They were later married in April of 1993, and divorced 13 years later.
JoAnn was a free spirit. She enjoyed the outdoors and loved gardening and fishing. She worked several jobs during her life. While in Aberdeen, SD, she started working as a CNA. She really enjoyed helping those that couldn't help themselves. While there, she also tried her hand at a 3M factory. Later in life she worked in a Deli at her local grocer, and then at the Barrel o Fun factory, and back to helping others at the Frazee Care Center. If you knew Jo, you would in turn know that she loved her home companions....her cats! If she had a space to do so, she probably would have taken in all of the local strays and cared for each and every one of them.
She is survived by her 3 daughters: Sherry (Mike) Hallick, Cathy (Brad) Yoder and Christine (Ross) Quam. Her siblings: Kenneth (Angie) Dais, Don Dais, and Sandra (Richard) Libis. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Florence, Step-mother, Edna, and her grandparents, all of which she expressed how much she missed. Free to fly with the angels now.
JoAnn has requested cremation and a private ceremony will be held at a later date.
