James "Jim" Koeppen

James Howard Koeppen was born on May 22nd, 1958 in Wheeling, Illinois to parents Howard Carl Koeppen and Anne Lucia Meyer. In 1970 he moved with his parents to Henning, MN where he helped out at their resort, Minneha Beach.

He graduated from Battle Lake High School in 1976. He was united in marriage to Barbara O’Dea in 1985 but later divorced and had 2 children Henry and Brian Koeppen. Jim resided in Ottertail MN and worked at Barrel O’Fun for almost 15 years before his health forced him to retire.

He kept busy doing many things including being a member of the Ottertail Rod and Gun Club, gopher trapping, fishing, going to craft fairs, and talking with many people. Jim was a friend to many and enjoyed just visiting no matter where he was.

Jim is survived by his mother, Anne Koeppen of Henning, sons Henry (Brenda) Koeppen of Henning MN, Brian (Heather) Koeppen of Ottertail MN, nephews Todd (Melissa) Johnson of Florida, Scott (Amy) Johnson of Henning MN, and niece Kari Campbell of Alexandria MN. He has 4 grandchildren: Robert, SaraAnn, Suzie, and Justice plus 3 grandnephews and 3 grandnieces. He also has a very good friend Kathy Saurer who he lived with for many years.

He was preceded in death by his father Howard Koeppen and sister Kathy Pederson. He will be greatly missed by all those who loved him.
