James Hansen of Perham, MN passed away on Friday, January 24, 2020 at Essentia Hospital in Fargo, ND. Jim was born in Waukesha, Wisconsin to Glenn and Mary (Wilkinson) Hansen. Jim was the middle child, having an older sister Julia (Rex) Brizedine and a younger sister Jean Hansen. Jim served in the United States Navy from 1962 to 1968. He was a gunman mate on the U.S.S. Washoe County LST-1165. He received the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal. Jim was released from active duty to the reserves on December 22, 1965.
Jim was married to the love of his life, Carol (Christman) Hansen for 41 years. He was also a loving and caring father to three sons: James (Mandy) Hansen; Michael Hansen; and Tim (JoAnn) Hansen. Jim had six grandchildren he loved so much: Emma, Jenna, Caleb, Emily, TJ and Korbin Hansen.
Jim is preceded in death by his father Glenn; mother Mary; sister Judy; brother-in-law Rex; and sister-in-law Nancy.
Left to cherish his memories are his wife Carol; sons: James (Mandy), Emma and Jenna Hansen; Michael, Caleb and Korbin Hansen; and Tim (JoAnn), Emily and TJ Hansen; sister Jean Hansen; brother-in-law Keith Hair and so many nieces and nephews to mention.
A memorial service will be planned for a later date.
