Helen Theresa Hoppe was born on September 15, 1940, at the Abbott Hospital in Minneapolis. Her parents were the late Albert Paul and Arlene Laura (Peterson) Hoppe. Helen was raised in Crystal Bay for the first 33 years of her life. She was baptized and confirmed in 1954 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Long Lake.
Helen attended Orono High School in Long Lake and graduated with the class of 1958.Helen Hoppe and Robert Wagner were united in marriage on November 28, 1959, in the Good Shepard Lutheran Church.
Helen was a Honeywell employee before retiring in 1999 and moving to Nimrod. Helen and Robert enjoyed their retirement together where they would hunt, fish, garden, and bird watch together. They also turned their farm into a habitat for wildlife.
Along with hunting, fishing, and gardening, Helen also enjoyed cooking, canning, baking, putting puzzles together, crosswords, word finds, and spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and friends and family.
Helen is preceded in death by her husband Robert; parents Albert and Arlene Hoppe; daughter: Teresa Gesinger; and sister: Carole Winterhalter.
Surviving Helen her loving son: Robert (Mary) Wagner II of Menahga; granddaughters: Cinda (Levi) Huff of Wadena, Amy Wagner of New Ulm, Randi Wagner of Park Rapids, Hanna Gesinger of Watertown; great-grandchildren: Tyler, Corey, Landon, Colton, April, Tobias, Payton, Mya, Katelyn, Nathan, Bailey Zoey, Scarlett, Summer, Leo and Jaxon; great-great-granddaughter Elena; brother: Paul (Betsy) Hoppe of Ogilvie.
