Harold Donald Risberg was born on August 15, 1930 to Erick and Esther (Erickson) Risberg at Cook County Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. His parents were Swedish immigrants, making Harold a 1st Generation Swede. At 9 months old, his family moved to Mountain Lake, Minnesota. In 1945, Harold was confirmed at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Darfur, Minnesota. He attended Mountain Lake High School, graduating with the class of 1948. Harold farmed with his father in Comfrey and Browerville.
On September 16, 1961 Harold was united in marriage to Eunice Arlene Abbas of Osakis, Minnesota at The United Methodist Church in Delavan, Minnesota. Together they made their home in Browerville where Harold farmed, and he earned his certification as a DHIA Supervisor. Harold attended Alexandria Technical College where he received a degree in sales. He was employed with Skelly as a bulk truck driver in Appleton for 2 years, then drove truck for Monarch Ice Cream Company in Ashby and Elbow Lake for 5 years.
In 1973 Harold and Eunice purchased a farm in Deer Creek Township where they operated dairy and crop farms. Harold loved to play cards and go fishing on area lakes.
On April 7, 2021 Harold passed away at 90 years of age at Fair Oaks Lodge in Wadena, Minnesota. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Preceding Harold in death are his parents; daughter: Nancy Lynn; infant son; sister: Elaine Lidke; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Robert (Deloris) Butterfield; and Arnold J. (Mona) Abbas; niece: Darla Lidke; and nephews-in-law: Joseph Nucci, Jr.; and William Essig.
Harold is survived by his loving wife of 59 years: Eunice; brother-in-law: Norman Lidke; many other relatives and a host of friends.
