Our little angel, Gregory Walter Januszewski, age 2 of Hewitt, MN, gained his wings on November 14, 2025, in the arms of Dad and Mom at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN, due to complications of Leigh Syndrome.
Gregory Walter Januszewski was born to Ryan and Leah on September 6, 2023, in Wadena, MN. He was welcomed home with love by his siblings, Maria, Aaron, Walter and Philip as well as his extended family. Gregory was washed clean and bathed in God’s glory through the waters of the Sacrament of Baptism on October 8th, 2023, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Wadena.
For two short years, we were blessed with a perfect and wonderful baby boy. He brought us immeasurable joy, laughter and light in the short time we were blessed with him. God had big plans for Gregory; he touched many people’s hearts and lives during his time with us. Made in God’s image, he was beautiful from his curly blonde hair to his chubby little feet. Gregory went through so much in his short life, especially this last year, enduring everything with such grace.
Gregory was the best snuggler, melting into your arms while squeezing your finger. He especially loved his morning snuggles with Philip, movie snuggles with Aaron and Walter, Maria’s loving care babysitting, tummy time on Dad, and big open mouth kisses for Mom.
Gregory's favorite activities were bath time and being outside. He was involved in all the family activities, including swimming, camping, and traveling to many of his siblings’ sporting events, mostly wrestling matches. Gregory worked hard in therapy and reached many of his developmental goals while winning over the hearts of his therapists. He was known by many names, including Greggy, My Big Boy, Sweet Baby, Baby Butts, Little Honey, Squishy, Quacker, Grey-Grey, my Mr. and Our Little Angel.
His family knows Gregory is free from pain and is now holding the hand of the Blessed Virgin Mary as he beholds the face of our Savior. Greggy is watching over us from above, and we have our own special angel praying for us.
Surviving Gregory are loving parents, Ryan and Leah; his sister, Maria; and his brothers, Aaron, Walter & Philip; his grandparents, Jack and Angie Werner and Lynn (Terry) Lehman; Aunts and Uncles, Renah (Brian) Meyer, Jason (Kayla) Januszewski, Kelly (Angie) Januszewski, Kristina (Kevin) Scheidecker, Sarah (Matthew) Keller, Jacob (Karlee) Werner, and Josh Werner; Step-Aunts, Casey Donarski and Serena Zirpel; Great-Grandmothers, Dot Hofland, Betty Werner, and Arilda Johnson, along with many cousins, relatives and friends who adored him.
