Gregory Januszewski Obituary

Gregory Walter Januszewski, 64, of Sebeka, Minnesota passed away at his home on Friday, April 8, 2022.

Greg was born on August 8, 1957, to Walter and Arilda (Seifert) Januszewski in Perham, Minnesota. He grew up the second oldest of nine children and graduated from Perham High School in 1975. Greg enjoyed being a big brother to his siblings. After graduation, he began farming which ultimately became his passion. He continued to do it right up until the day he passed away. Greg loved the farming community and enjoyed conversations over a cup of coffee or for hours on the phone.

On October 8, 1977, Greg was united in marriage to Lynn Olson. Lynn and Greg had five children who were the joy of his life: Renah, Ryan, Jason, Kelly, and Kristina. Greg was a man of endless ambition, and he held many jobs in order to support his growing family. He drove truck for Barrel O’ Fun and also drove bus for the New York Mills School District. Later, he was a semi-truck driver for Trailwood Transportation. His last 17 years were spent working for the Otter Tail County Highway Department where he was known as one of the best snow plow drivers in the county.

Greg married Kim Novak on March 14, 2003. They resided on a farm in Henning, MN.

Greg married Nancy (Brown) Weeks on February 14, 2015 in Duluth, MN. They made their home on 160 acres of land near Bluegrass, MN where Greg continued to farm on the side. This was the perfect site for Greg to share his passion for hunting with his numerous deer stands. It became the place to entertain his growing family.

Greg was an active member of several service and conservation groups including the Perham Sportsman’s Club, MN Deer Hunters Association, Pheasants Forever, Ducks Unlimited, and the Masons. In his youth Greg was a Boy Scout, and he became a Boy Scout leader as an adult. Greg loved hunting, fishing, and camping, especially when family was involved. Greg was an extremely selfless man who was known to be generous to anyone who needed help with anything. Greg’s wealth was measured in relationships. His greatest riches were his wife, children, grandchildren, siblings, parents, and many friends.

Greg leaves behind his wife of seven years Nancy; his children Renah (Brian) Meyer, Ryan (Leah) Januszewski, Jason (Kayla) Januszewski, Kelly (Angie) Januszewski, Kristina (Kevin) Scheidecker; step-children Robert Dobbelaer, Thomas (Jennifer) Dobbelaer and Kymberly Weeks; his grandchildren Lucie, Molly, Nathan, Maria, Aaron, Walter, Philip, DaShaun, Chloe, Oliver, Leila, George, Elsie, Otto, Eden; step-grandchildren Darius, Aros, Alison, Tyler, Jacob, Grace, Brooke, Cliff, Destiny, Desire, Dominick, Davey, and Leiland; his mother Arilda (Bob) Johnson; his siblings Connie (Steve) Richter, Nora (Rick) Heinecke, Bill (Tammy) Januszewski, Andy (Shelly) Januszewski, Kevin (Caroline) Januszewski, Mary (Charlie) Schornack, Jenifer (Bob) Schempp and Elizabeth (Mike) Urbach; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Greg was preceded in death by his father Walter Januszewski, Stepfather Arvid Eken, sister-in-law Judy Januszewski, Father-in-law Don Olson, Mother-in-law Lucy Olson, brother-in-law Jon Glawe, and nephews Jack Januszewski and Riley Koehnen.
