Gloria Fischer, 73, died unexpectedly on August 12, 2024, peacefully surrounded by her children at home. She was born in Pipestone, Minnesota on October 16, 1950, to Gilbert and Wilhelmina (Overgaauw) Kuyper.
Gloria graduated from Ruthton High School, class of 1968. Following graduation, she married the love of her life, Dan Fischer, they were married for 54 years. They settled in Tyler, Minnesota prior to moving to Prescott Valley, Arizona and later returned to Wadena, Minnesota where they lived for over 30 years on their dream farm.
Gloria worked in a veterinarian office then went on to work for the United States Postal Service where she retired as Postmaster after 35 years.
Gloria enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She loved everyone deeply. You could always count on Gloria for a delicious home cooked meal. Everyone loved her pumpkin bars! Gloria enjoyed spending time with her kids and grandkids going fishing, catching frogs, eating ice cream and making gingerbread houses to name a few. She was an active member of Hope Chapel church, she enjoyed gardening, traveling, neighborhood picnics, card games and bonfires.
Gloria was preceded in death by her husband Dan Fischer, granddaughter Heather Williams, her parents Gilbert and Wilhelmina Kuyper.
Gloria is survived by her children Sheila Gonzales and her husband Vince, Leslie Williams and her husband Scott, Doug Fischer and his wife Amanda. Seven grandchildren; Julia, Alex, Amanda, Jake, Brannan, Justice & Dena. Seven great grandchildren; Wyatt, Roman, Hope, Meadow, Ella, Beau, Lainey and her beloved dogs Peter and Charlie.
A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later time.
