Gerhard Rudkowski

Gerhard was born in Mainz, Germany on May 12, 1959. Even as a young boy, he was hard working and a free spirit. He grew up loving motorcycles and fixing cars. He moved over to the United States in 1991 and continued that passion. He travelled around the US riding motorcycle and truck driving. He met his now wife, Kasha and her two kids, Veronika and Matt in 2002. He welcomed those kids into his life with open arms and an open heart. In October 2003 and October 2004, they welcomed their children, Michelle and Alex, who changed his life tremendously. In 2008, he and his family moved to Detroit Lakes, Minnesota where they lived before moving to New York Mills, Minnesota in 2020. During this time, Gerhard enjoyed spending time with family and friends, drag racing, and of course football season where he cheered on his favorite team, the Greenbay Packers. He was a soft spoken man, a kind soul. He would do just about anything for those he loved. Gerhard was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2019. Though it was a difficult diagnosis, he continued his fight for many years. During that time, he became a grandfather to Oaklyn Mae and Meadow Kay, whom he loved fiercely. Gerhard lost his long battle with cancer on April 4, 2024 unexpectedly, but he was surrounded by those who love him. Gerhard will be missed by all those who were fortunate enough to know him. He touched so many lives near and far, and his legacy will live on through those who love him. We love you and we miss you. We were lucky to call you a husband, father, grandfather and friend.
