Gary Lee Pflipsen

Gary Lee Pflipsen passed away on August 12, 2025, in Wadena, Minnesota. He was born on August 29, 1953, in Melrose, Minnesota, to Theodore and Grace (Fern) Pflipsen.

Gary graduated from Melrose High School in 1972. While working at the Jennie-O Turkey plant, he met Evonna Horner. The two were married in 1975 and shared a life together that included raising one son. Gary loved Evonna dearly and they recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.

He later worked at Trident Foods, where he dedicated over 25 years before retiring. Though Gary was a homebody at heart, he had a deep appreciation for the world beyond his doorstep and enjoyed watching travel shows that brought distant places into his living room.

An avid outdoorsman, Gary especially loved deer hunting and fishing. He found joy in observing and feeding the deer, squirrels, and birds that visited his yard. Music was another of his passions—he particularly enjoyed listening to oldies from the 1970s.

Gary is preceded into death by his parents; siblings Betty Dickenson and Donald Pflipsen; and parents-in-law Guy and Viola Horner.

Gary’s passing will be mourned by his wife Evonna; son Andrew (Jacob Reisenbigler); grand-cats Lex Luthor &Kal-El and grand-dog Teddy; sibling Donna Frank; many nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Gary’s quiet presence and steady spirit will be remembered by those who knew him. May his memory bring comfort to all who shared in his life.
