Gail Charles Frisbie was born on December 12, 1935 in Nimrod, Minnesota His parents were the late Kenneth and Gladys (Drake) Frisbie. Gail was baptized in Sebeka, Minnesota in 1945. He grew up in the Huntersville, Minnesota area and attended Sebeka High School, graduating with the class of 1954. Following high school, Gail enlisted in the United States Navy, honorably serving his country for 20 years sailing the Pacific Fleet. Upon his retirement from the Navy, Gail and Judy made their home in Hewitt, Minnesota.
On July 6, 1973, Gail was united in marriage to Judith “Judy” Herman. Their marriage was blessed with four children: Caryl, Daryl, Paul, and Amanda. Gail and Judy raised their family in Hewitt where Gail was employed at Bell Hill for 30 years where he was a counselor and enjoyed working in the woodshop.
Gail was a lifetime member of the Seawolf Association. He enjoyed watching sports on TV, especially the Minnesota Vikings and Twins along with woodworking, and sharing military stories.
On August 23, 2020, Gail passed away at his home at 84 years of age. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Preceding Gail in death are his parents: Kenneth and Gladys; child, Caryl Johnson; siblings: Bud Frisbie; and Janean St. Amour.
Gail is survived by his loving wife of 47 years: Judy; children: Daryl (Tara) Frisbie of Healy, Alaska; Paul Frisbie of Hewitt, Minnesota; and Amanda (Kipp) Greenwaldt of Little Falls, Minnesota; 25 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; siblings: Gene Frisbie of Wadena, Minnesota; Gary Frisbie of White Sulfur Springs, Montana; and Harold Frisbie of Maple Grove, Minnesota; many other relatives and a host of friends.
