Frank Weis Obituary

Frank G. Weis

Frank G. Weis left this earth peacefully on April 25, 2022 for his next great adventure. Waiting for him somewhere over the rainbow are his parents, Anton & Blanche, his oldest son, Shane, his brother John, sister Jeanne, sister-in-law Lois and brother-in-law Johnny, all of which we know welcomed him with great big hugs.

To ensure that his earthly adventures are not forgotten and to keep his memory alive in their hearts, he left behind his children, Kerri, Brian and daughter-in-law Anne, Amanda and son-in-law Dave, as well as his beloved grandchildren, Donivan, Danielle, Shaylnn, Jake, Mitch, Myia, Dylan, Kendra, Josh and Dawson. To help them keep his memory alive, Frank also left behind his brothers Ralph, Bob and sister -in-law Joan, sisters Grace, Miriam and brother-in-law Keith and sister-in- law Mary, as well as all his nieces and nephews, whom he also loved and adored.

Frank was a graduate of Perham High School and shortly after graduation moved to Alaska and joined the Alaska Army National Guard and was honorably discharged in 1971. During this time, he married his first wife Linda and they started a family. He then moved back to MN with his family in 1978 to a small farm near Richville and this was his home until his passing.

Frank loved music -loved listening to rock-n-roll, live bands and did lots and lots of dancing. He had passion for flying and accomplished his dream of getting his private pilot’s license. He relished being in the sun and loved sailing and anything to do with water.

He had a life full of life. He had smile and laugh that could brighten any room. The last few years of his life though, he chose a quieter version of his former self. It brought him great joy and solace to just sit on his porch and watch, listen and feed the wildlife. This was his happy place.

A Celebration of Life will be held in August.

A line from of his favorite songs says it all:

“I can see clearly now; the rain is gone. I can see all obstacles in my way. Gone are the dark clouds that had me blind. It’s gonna be a bright, bright, sunshiny day.” - Johnny Nash
