Elton Hentila

Elton Eino Elwood Hentila was born on November 15, 1940 at home on the Hentila Farm, rural New York Mills, Minnesota.  His parents were the late Eino and Jennie (Hemming) Hentila.  Elton attended a rural country school.  He enjoyed living and farming on the Hentila Family Farm in Deer Creek Township.

After retiring from farming, he eventually moved into town.  Elton always enjoyed being with family and friends, going to church and spending time at Finn Creek. 

On July 27, 2024 Elton passed away peacefully with the gentle care of Knute Nelson Hospice at Mills Manor in New York Mills, Minnesota at 83 years of age.  He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.  Preceding Elton in death were his parents Eino and Jennie Hentila; brother, Ervin; sister, Lempi; brother-in-law: Don Dresser.

Elton is survived by his sisters: Eldora Dresser and Rosie (Jim) Clemenson; many nieces and nephews: John (Sandy) Hentila, Kathy (Todd) Schorn, Cary Dresser Verdi, Craig (Lisa) Dresser, Barry (Stephanie) Dresser, Brian Dresser, Christopher (Ali) Clemenson, Erik Clemenson, Justin (Sally) Clemenson, and many cousins and friends.

The family would like to thank the Anderson cousins, Barb Steuber, Mills Manor, Knute Nelson Hospice and Karvonen Funeral Home.
