Elsie Martini

Elsie Lillian (Lindula) Martini, age 98, Woodburn, OR, formerly Sebeka, MN resident, peacefully passed from this life to eternal life on Saturday January 8th, 2022 at the Silver Creek Assisted Living in Woodburn, Oregon.

Elsie Lillian (Lindula) Martini was born April 13,1923 in Sebeka, MN to Nickolas and Fiina (Johnson) Lindula. Elsie graduated from Sebeka high school in 1940. She was married to Reynold Martini on August 31, 1941. Together they were blessed with Three children, 4 Grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

After getting married they bought a farm by Sebeka. Elsie loved to bake. She really preferred to work in the fields next to Reynold. Then when Reynold started business as a livestock dealer, Elsie was driving truck right with him - or driving her truck behind him! A family vacation was taken every fall to see Reynold’s parents in Portland, OR and to visit their favorite place in Sea Side Oregon. They also bought a place to winter in the sun in Florida where Reynold fished and Elsie took up painting. They loved their winters in Florida and then coming back to Sebeka in time for spring fishing.

In 2018, they sold their home and moved to be closer to their family in Oregon, to Silver Creek Assisted Living in Woodburn, OR.

Left to cherish her memories is her husband of 80 years Reynold Martini, children: Gene (Kathy) Martini; Bonnie (Bruce) Johnson; Brenda (Ed) Kee: Grandchildren: Kevin (Heidi) Johnson, Kyle Johnson, Noelle Rasmussen (deceased) and Trevor Rasmussen. Great Grand Children: Madie, Chase, Nathan and Delanie Johnson and Jesse Rasmussen.

She is preceded in death by her parents: Nickolas and Fina; brothers: Walter, Marvin, Ervin and Elvin; sisters Martha, Hazel and Ethel.  She will be greatly missed. 

Services will be held Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at 1:00 pm at Karvonen Funeral Home, 419 2nd Street NE,  Wadena, MN, 56482
