Elizabeth “Betty” Ann Maloney was born November 20, 1944 to Denis and Mary (Gruman) Maloney in Fargo ND. Her family moved to Deer Creek, MN in 1952. She attended Deer Creek High School, graduating with the class of 1962.
She was united in marriage to Roy Ellsworth Redfield on August 31, 1963 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Deer Creek. Roy and Betty made their home west of Deer Creek, dairy farming from 1963-1996. Their marriage was blessed with two children, Pamela and Shawn.
After a devastating tornado, Roy and Betty retired to Wadena, MN in 1996. After the loss of Roy on September 20, 2006, Betty continued to live in Wadena until 2014. Betty resided at Willow Creek Assisted Living Henning, MN from 2014-2020, with a short stay at Our Home Your Home Henning, MN in 2021.
Betty enjoyed traveling the U.S. with Roy, watching professional sports, watching her children and grandchildren play sports, gardening, and her photo albums. She also loved to spend time reading and working on puzzles.
On March 13, 2021 Betty passed away at Tri-County Hospital in Wadena, Minnesota at 76 years of age. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Preceding Betty in death were her parents: Denis and Mary Maloney; husband: Roy Redfield; brother: Norman Maloney; sister-in-law: Janet Maloney; brother-in-law: Norman Schwartz; and her cat, Bub.
Betty is survived by her loving children: Pamela (Larry) Gohman of St. Cloud and Shawn (Anjanet) Redfield of Henning; grandchildren: Cody Redfield of Wadena, Ryan (Heather) Redfield of Shoreview, Alex Redfield of Wadena; Braeden Redfield of Wadena; Justin Redfield of Henning; Megan Rinicker of Henning and Tyler Rinicker of Okinawa, Japan; siblings: Kathleen (James) Hill of Deer Creek; James (Sandra) Maloney of Deer Creek; Thomas (Linda) Maloney of North Branch; Patrick (Carolyn) Maloney of Manchester, IA; Suzette (Randy) Maluchnik of Chaska; sisters-in-law: Sandra Schwartz of Kalispell, MT; Shirley Stiles of St. Cloud; Sharon Redfield of Wadena; Karen (Mike) Henderson of Cambridge; many other relatives and a host of friends.
