Edna Mae Evelyn (Kyllonen) Ollanketo, age 96, of Menahga, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 16, 2026, at Greenwood Connections in Menahga.
Edna Mae was born on November 8, 1929, in Menahga, Minnesota, to Matt and Lillian (Young) Kyllonen. She was raised in Menahga and graduated from Menahga High School. During her high school years, she began working at Red Owl, a job that would grow into a lifelong career.
On June 3, 1950, Edna Mae was united in marriage to Raymond Ollanketo in Menahga. They made their home in Brooklyn Center, where they raised their children. Edna Mae continued her career with Red Owl, eventually serving as Assistant Manager in the produce department. After her retirement, they returned to Menahga.
Edna Mae was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who cherished time spent with her family.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Raymond, in 2001; her parents; siblings Judith Heybloom, Vienna LaFleur, William Kyllonen, Viola Koski, Sylvan Josephson, Hazel Matthews, Wilbur Kyllonen, Harold Kyllonen, Lillian Wahl, Marvin Kyllonen, and Marlene Peterson; her grandson Matthew Nevala; great-grandson Tate David Ollanketo; and great-granddaughter Lucy Emma Lakanen.
Deeply loved, Edna Mae’s passing will be remembered by her children: Stephen (Christa) Ollanketo, David (Loretta) Ollanketo, Cheryl Nevala, and Carolyn (Kurt) Lakanen; 15 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; her brother Clarence “Buddy” Kyllonen and many brothers and sisters in faith.
