Dorothy Jean (Tice) Teal

Dorothy Jean Tice Teal was born in Minneapolis September 12, 1931 to Robert and Myrtle (Johnson) Tice. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. Her father was a depot agent and they moved from Donaldson to Euclid where she grew up and graduated from Central High School in Crookston, Minnesota. Dorothy graduated from Moorhead State Teacher’s College and taught second grade in Warren and then Mentor, Minnesota.

Dorothy was married to Robert Teal and from that marriage they were blessed with five children, Deborah, Diana, Dean, Melanie and Mark. Robert passed away in 2017. She is survived by her children Deborah (Patrick, deceased) Leonard (Cotati, CA), Dr. Diana (Gary) Kostrzewski (Grand Forks, ND), Dean (Cheryl) Teal (Topeka, KS), Melanie (Rick) Brockpahler (Sebeka, MN) and Mark Teal (San Francisco, CA). Also survived by her grandchildren Angela (Al) Walker, Tiffany (Brady) VanVooren, Holly (Rob Olah) Kostrzewski, Adam (Kristi) Teal, Abby (Sean Gordon) Dunford, Brenen (Kara) Brockpahler, Brett Brockpahler and Brody Brockpahler, Shawn (Kayla) Teal, and Zachary (Hunter Holte) Teal; great-grandchildren Devon, Alexander and Aaron Walker, Colby and Kenzie Teal, Brecken and Turner Dunford, Zachary and Matthew VanVooren, Ashton and Sutton Teal, Brinley Teal, and Waylon Brockpahler; great-great-grandchild Hazel Walker.

Dorothy was a woman of great faith and will be missed.

Funeral arrangements handled by Karvonen. Funeral will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Wadena on September 18, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. Visitation one hour before service. Internment will be at Rosehill Cemetery, Mentor, Minnesota. *Masks are REQUIRED per the family's wishes*
