Doris “Dori” Helen (Williams) Hagen, age 95, of Wadena, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on April 17, 2026, at Vitality Living of New York Mills.
Dori was born on June 3,1930, in Thief River Falls, Minnesota, to Henry and Lena (Kaushagen) Williams. She grew up on a farm near there where she learned a hard work ethic along with how to run all sorts of farming equipment. She was a graduate of Thief River Falls High School class of 1949. Dori attended Concordia College for one year before transferring to & graduating from Aakers Business College in Grand Forks, North Dakota.
Dori met the love of her life Percy Hagen at a dance & spoke of how impressed she was with his fashion sense & what a gentleman he was. Percy & Dori were united in marriage on April 15th, 1951 at Silver Creek Lutheran Church, in Thief River Falls, Minnesota. In 1967 they moved from Thief River Falls to Wadena Minnesota where they lived out the rest of their married years. In their 55 years together they raised 4 amazing sons; Gregg, Joel, Keith,& Paul. They thoroughly enjoyed following their sons & later on the grandchildren in all their sporting events!
Dori enjoyed being a homemaker but she also found fulfillment in her job as secretary at Immanuel Lutheran Church where she helped set up the church’s first library. During her time at Immanuel Lutheran Church, she completed a two year Bethel Bible Series Course, which she was very proud of since she had a very deep love for the Lord!
Some of Dori’s favorite hobbies were antiquing, square and polka dancing, sewing, baking, reading, Bible studies, singing at weddings together with her husband Percy, & if you ever needed a drawer or closet organized Dori was your gal!
Dori was preceded in death by her husband, Percy Hagen; parents, Henry and Lena Williams; sister & brother-in-law, Lucille & Bernard Myers; great grandson, Caleb Hagen; mother & father-in-law, Olaf & Lillian Hagen, sisters & brother-in-laws; Mildred & Melvin Joppru, Ernest & Jean Hagen, & Irene & Robert Sjulestad.
Dori will be lovingly remembered by her four sons & daughter-in-law’s, Gregg & Karen Hagen, Joel & Linda Hagen, Keith & Pamela Hagen, & Paul & Theresa Hagen; 13 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren; many other relatives and a host of friends.
