Doreen Salvog

Doreen Virgina (Cordes) Salvog, age 97, of Henning, Minnesota, passed away on June 12, 2024, at Knute Nelson Care Center in Alexandria, Minnesota.

Doreen Virgina Cordes was born on June 22, 1926, in Henning, Minnesota to Herman and Margaret (Brockhoff) Cordes. She was baptized into the Lutheran faith on July 18, 1926, and confirmed on April 2, 1939. Doreen attended Henning High School, graduating with the class of 1943.

On December 6, 1947, Doreen was united in marriage to Harold Salvog at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Henning, Minnesota. She worked as a bookkeeper for the Henning Coop Creamery, Gray’s Insurance and then for many years for Volden Construction Company and Clement Manor, fully retiring at age 84.

Doreen was a life-long member of St Paul’s Lutheran Church in Henning where she was organist for 75 years.

Deeply loved, Doreen’s passing will be mourned by her daughter Margaret A Lund; grandson Jeremy Lund; two great-grandchildren Devon and Jenna; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Doreen is preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister Rosella (Lueders), brothers Raymond, Russel and Warren, nephew Dale Cordes, nieces Rosalyn (Lueders) Runke, and Marlys (Lueders) Groshens.
