Donna May Koester was born on August 31, 1959, in Browerville, Minnesota, the daughter of Edwin Walter Carl Kleinschmidt and Emilieann Esther Helen Becker. She was confirmed at the United Church of Christ in Long Prairie, Minnesota, and graduated from Long Prairie High School with the Class of 1977. She later received a degree from Fergus Falls Community College.
On October 21, 1978, Donna was united in marriage to David Raymond Koester at the same church where she was confirmed. Their marriage was blessed with three children: Jennifer (Paul) Pierce of Fort Worth, Texas; Tammy (Doug) Raab of Tynsdal, South Dakota; and Michael Koester of Moorhead, Minnesota.
Donna dedicated her life to caring for others through her work as a registered nurse. Over the years, she was employed at the Hennepin County Government Center, Ashby Nursing Home, and Broen Memorial Home, where she faithfully served for 29 years.
She found joy in reading, crocheting, and four-wheeling. Above all, she cherished time with her family, especially her four grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, David; her 3 children and grandchildren: Angela, Aiden, Bryan, and Kaitlin; her sisters, Lois Raile, Arlene Steuck, Janet (Kelvin) Meyer, and Cary (Chris) Kleinschmidt, all of Long Prairie, Minnesota; along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Donna was preceded in death by her father Edwin Kleinschmidt.
