David Sibert

David Orey Sibert was born in Bertha, MN on March 27, 1941. He went to school in Hewitt, then entered the Army at age 17. He served from 1958-64.

After he was honorably discharged, he became a dairy farmer in both Wisconsin and then in Minnesota. Later he went to work at Greyco, then Food, Machinery, Chemical Company (FMC) where he worked in the tool crib. He also dealt blackjack in casinos in both Wisconsin and Minnesota for a number of years.

He met his longtime partner of 35 years, Shirley, three years after she was widowed. The two retired in Henning in 2006.

David enjoyed hunting and fishing and going to the casino. He could often be found on his front porch drinking coffee and smoking cigarettes, visiting with neighbors, and watching kids play across the street at the park.

He is preceded in death by his father: Orey; mother: Clara (Dilly); his brothers: Arnold and Richard; his son Brian; and grand-daughter Elizabeth.

He is survived by his sons: Cal, Kevin and Troy; his life partner Shirley Kvasnick; sisters-in-law: Karen Sibert and Luanna Sibert; his six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; his many cousins, nieces and nephews; his special friends Patricia and Duane and many others.
