David Moreland Obituary

David Jon Morse Moreland was born on December 3, 1968 in Pender, Nebraska. His parents are Jim and Wilma Morse. He was baptized in January 1969 at the First Presbyterian Church in Emerson, Nebraska and he was confirmed on June 10, 1984 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Henning, Minnesota.

 David attended Henning High School, after graduation he attended the University of Minnesota. He met Barbara Axland in 1988 while he was attending the University. After a seven-year courtship, David and Barbara were united in marriage on October 29, 1995 at St. George’s Episcopal Church in St. Louis Park, Minnesota. Their marriage was blessed with a son, Dashiell in 2001. David enlisted in the United States Navy, becoming a Lieutenant. He proudly served from October 5, 2001 to January 31, 2012.

David and Barbara made their home in Jacksonville, Florida, San Diego, California, and Washington State.

In 2013 Barbara was diagnosed with cancer. David, Barbara, and Dashiell moved back to Henning, Minnesota to be closer to family. Barbara passed away on July 29, 2015.

On May 24, 2020 David passed away at his home.  He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Preceding David in death was his wife, Barbara; sister-in-law, Teri Morse; and brother-in-law, Tony Kaiser.

David is survived by his son, Dashiell Moreland; parents: Jim and Wilma Morse; brothers: Todd (Donna) and Mike (Jodie); sisters: Nancy Kaiser; Anji (Shawn) Redfield; and Holly (Jeff) Weller; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
