David Kasperson Obituary

David Kasperson Sr. grew up in Verndale, MN, on a dairy farm. He loved walleye fishing and building computers. 1977 he graduated from Verndale High School as valedictorian. He went on to complete an associate degree in electronics at Wadena Vocational Institute.

In 1981 he met the love of his life Ginette during her medical laboratory technician internship in Fridley, MN. March 18th 1989 they married in a small church in Moundsview, MN. Together they had two children Candice and David.

While working at Control Data as a computer programmer he continued his education at the University of Minnesota. He graduated with honors and achieved a bachelor's degree in computer science. His career brought him to Austin, TX where he worked at Tandem computers. Over the course of 35 years in Austin he worked at the same building for Tandem Computers, then Compaq, and finally Hewlett Packard Enterprises. With great pride he developed and authored numerous patents during the course of his career.

In Austin he loved going on long walks with his children, family vacations, his career, and biking with friends. He enjoyed family events with his daughter-in-law, Bea, and son-in-law, Jason. He is remembered by grandchildren Wyatt and Winnie as "pop-pop" who will cherish the hours they spent playing together. One of his favorite past times include watching sci-fi movies with family and pets.

On January 21st he passed away surrounded by family. He will be remembered for his kindness, thoughtfulness, love for family and friends, and a witty sense of humor.
