David Colstrom

David Anthony Colstrom was born on October 20, 1941 in Cannon Falls, Minnesota.  His parents were the late Frank Colstrom, Jr. and Margaret (Streitz).  Dave graduated from the Roosevelt High School in Minneapolis, Minnesota with the class of 1960.

  David was employed with Honeywell for 19 years as a foreman.   He resided in Gonvik, Minnesota where he was a carpenter. In 1981, Dave made his home in New York Mills where he owned and operated Dave’s TV and was later employed with Lindy’s Hardware Store. 

On July 20, 1989 Dave was united in marriage to Sherrie Elkin in Wadena, Minnesota.  Dave and Sherrie made their home in rural Ottertail, Minnesota. Dave enjoyed traveling the region with Sherrie for art fairs. He was very mechanically inclined and loved to tinker, he could fix anything. Dave built Sherrie displays for her Batikworks.

On June 3, 2021 Dave passed away at the Sanford Medical Center in Fargo, North Dakota at the age of 79. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Preceding Dave in death are his parents: Frank and Margaret; and brothers: Michael and Craig.

Dave is survived by his wife: Sherrie; sister: Sandra; 3 nieces: Lisa, Christina, and Sara; stepson, Jack Elkin and his three children: Vivian, Ronan and Audrey; many other relatives and a host of friends.
