Darryl D Pauna

Darryl D. Pauna, age 51, of Waverly peacefully passed away on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at Abbott Hospital in Minneapolis.

A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. at Freshwater Church (138 W 1st St) in Waconia with Rev. John Braland as officiant.  Visitation held from 12:00 P.M. until the time of service.

Darryl David Pauna was born May 11, 1969 in Perham, MN, the son of Arnold and Mary (Maninga) Pauna.  Darryl grew up in Wolf Lake-rural Mehagha and graduated from New York Mills High School.  On December 10, 1994 Darryl was united in marriage to Lisa (Jueckstock) Pauna at Riverside Alliance in Monticello.  Together they were blessed with two sons.

Darryl was a diligent worker who lovingly provided for his family.  He started work in home construction and later worked for the Mound West Tonka and Delano School districts.  He recently was excited about returning to his first love of construction.    When not working, Darryl enjoyed putzing with things in the yard and garage.  He had a great appreciation of the outdoors.  He loved to garden, fish, deer and duck hunt and to just be in nature.  Kayaking with his wife Lisa was one of his great joys.

Beyond his many skills and hobbies, Darryl adored his family.  Time spent with his boys was precious to him.  Darryl was a man of integrity, who was loving and faithful.   He had a dry sense of humor, quick wit and was fun to be around. He was generous and always willing to lend a helping hand, usually without others knowing, never looking for applause.  Darryl was blessed to go home to his loving Savior but left an untimely ache for those left behind.  He will be greatly missed until the glorious day when all who loved him will see him again.

Darryl was preceded in death by his father Arnold Pauna; brother Myron Pauna; grandparents Richard and Ida Pauna, Benjamin and Hazel Maninga; sister-in-law Bobbi Jo Jueckstock.

Darryl is survived by his loving family: wife of 27 years Lisa; children Seth Pauna and fiance Angelica Lothert of Decatur, IL, Chad Pauna of Waverly; mother Mary Pauna of Menahga; siblings Doreen (Mark) Schik of Menahga, Anne (Ronnie) Hill of Whiteville, TN, Kristopher (Kappy) Pauna of Prior Lake, Jonathan (Jessica) Pauna of Barnesville; father-in-law and mother-in-law Bob and Lynda Jueckstock of Mayer; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law Kim (Phil) Bloomdahl of Maiden Rock, WI, Heather Pelnis of New Brighton; nieces and nephews Caroline Schik, David (Emily) Schik, Dylan Hill, Ainsly, Finn, Sawyer, and Logan Pauna, Peyton, Macie, Tate and Stella Pauna, Kristina, Brianna, Annika and Lydia Bloomdahl, Broc and Taylor Goranson, Liam Pelnis; many aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.
