Dana "Danny" Lundgren Obituary

Dana “Danny” Owen Lundgren passed away peacefully in his home on November 30, 2025, in Frazee, Minnesota. He was born on October 12, 1948, in Fergus Falls, Minnesota, to Roy and Evelyn (Knutson) Lundgren. Dana was the middle child of 7 children. His family moved around a bit before finally settling in Frazee. Where he then graduated from Frazee High School in 1967.

While still in high school, Dana had begun his career at Daggett Truck Line working as a mechanic and after graduating he became an over-the-road truck driver at Daggett’s. His dedication and skill behind the wheel earned him the prestigious "Million Mile Award" during his 18 plus years there. Over the years, Dana also drove for various trucking companies like Genmar/Brunswick, Perham Egg, Jerry Hammond Trucking, and BM Transport. Throughout his career, he has driven over 5 million miles and visited 49 of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, Mexico and many of the Canadian Providences. If he could drive a semi there, he would go.

On December 22, 1972, Dana married Lorraine Jepson. Their union was blessed with three children. They lived in several different homes over the years but always remained in the Frazee area. Though Dana and Lorraine divorced in 2015, they remained friendly throughout the years, even playing cards together.

Dana found joy in many hobbies. He enjoyed reading, going to car and truck shows, golfing, playing cards, and making donuts - pastimes that brought him both relaxation and connection with others. He loved spending time with his grandchildren (who he was incredibly proud of) and extended family. He loved to tell stories, especially to his grandchildren, nieces and nephews and was affectionately known as “Papa Danny”. He also dabbled in hobby-farming at various times in his life.

Dana is preceded into death by his parents; and siblings: David Lundgren and Shannon Jacobson; and siblings-in-law: Dave Abress and Susan Lundgren.

Dana will be remembered by his children: Sheila (Tristan) Jesness, Julie (Matt) Listrom, and Scott Lundgren; grandchildren: Alexis Jesness, Mercedes Jesness, Kirsten (TC) Rollins, Katie Listrom, Nickolas Listrom, and Owen Lundgren; great-grandchildren: Luka and Levi Rollins; siblings: Theodora Abress, Dwight (Karin) Lundgren, Gretchen (Bob) Stalboeger, Kevin (Becky) Lundgren; brother-in-law: Earl Jacobson; many nieces, nephews, and a host of friends and extended family.

May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him.
