Coleen Larson

Coleen Faye Martodam was born on February 27, 1958 in Perham, Minnesota. Her parents are Barbara (Morrow) and the late Robert Martodam. Coleen was Baptized on March 9, 1958 and her First Communion was March 20, 1966 at St. Henry’s Catholic Church in Perham.

Coleen graduated from the Perham High School with the class of 1976. . After graduation she was employed with the Perham Hospital and Detroit Lakes Middle School as a dietary aide.

Coleen was married to Larry Sundberg on December 10, 1977. They were married for ten years and were blessed with two children: Steven and Laura.

In the early 1990’s Coleen worked as a desktop publisher.

In 2002 she met her future husband, Greg at a meeting.  They were united in marriage on May 15, 2021 at their family farm in Perham.

Coleen loved cooking, flower and vegetable gardening, knitting. She volunteered in the community, hospital and church.  She touched many peoples lives as a sponsor, and she found humble fulfillment with her work in recovery.

On May 22, 2021 Coleen passed away at Perham Health in Perham, Minnesota at 63 years of age.  She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.  Coleen is preceded in death by her father, Robert; sisters: Debbie and Baby Kathleen.

Coleen is survived by her loving husband, Greg Larson of Perham; her mother, Barbara Martodam; children: Steven (Jennifer) Sundberg of El Paso, Texas; Laura Sundberg of Perham; grandchildren: Quenten, Aurora, and Lyam Schumacher; Steven Jr., Emma, Addison and Brennan Sundberg; sister, Beth (Pete) Miller of Perham; brothers: Ed (Brenda) Martodam of Perham and Mike (Michelle) Martodam of Minneapolis; many other relatives and a host of friends.
