Charlotte Louise Deckert passed away on July 14, 2025, in Henning, Minnesota. She was born on January 28, 1933, to Henry and Alice (Babcock) Torkelson in Sunburg, Minnesota.
Charlotte grew up on a farm near Henning and graduated from Henning High School in 1949. On August 27, 1950, she married Arthur Deckert at Trinity Lutheran Church in Henning. Together they made their home on a farm near Henning, where they raised six children. Charlotte enjoyed working outside, reading, and putting puzzles together.
Following Arthur’s passing on December 22, 1985, Charlotte moved into the town of Henning in 1987. In December of 2010, she became a resident of Country Living Adult Foster Care in rural Henning where she received excellent care. Charlotte’s life was deeply rooted in her family and community. Her journey from farm life to raising a large family reflected her enduring strength and commitment.
Charlotte is preceded into death by her parents; husband Arthur; grandchildren: Sara and Derek; son-in-law Al Fisher; siblings: Wesley, Melba, and Russel; and numerous in-laws.
Charlotte is survived by her children: Rick(June) Deckert, Barb (Larry) Anderson, Bob (Laurie) Deckert, Margaret Fisher, Chuck (Nancy) Deckert, and Don (Beverly) Deckert; sixteen grandchildren, forty great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild; sister: Althea Deckert; In-laws: Helen Thiedich, Herman Deckert, and Rodney Deckert; many nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
