Cathy Rud

Cathy Olson was born on February 7, 1954, in Wadena, Minnesota. Her parents were the late Charles and Ardis (Vik) Olson. Cathy graduated from Henning High School with the class of 1973.

Cathy Olson was married to Gordon Rud on July 21, 1979, at the Good Shepard Lutheran Church in Henning, Minnesota They were married for 27 years as they were blessed with three children: Lainie, Michael, and Tyler.

Cathy made her home in Wadena for 13 years where she was employed at Fixes Grocery. For the past 2 years she has made her home in Perham, Minnesota.

Cathy enjoyed reading, listening to music, and spending time with her three grandchildren. Cathy also enjoyed playing games on her kindle and having coffee time with the ladies.

On December 24, 2021, Cathy Rud passed away at the Thomas House in Perham, Minnesota at 67 years of age.  She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Preceding Cathy in death was her mother, Ardis Olson, son Tyler, and son-in-law Craig Fenske.

Cathy is survived by her son: Michael Rud of Brainerd; daughter: Lainie Fenske of Hawley; 3 grandchildren: Brady, Bryce, and Brylee; sister: Vicky (John) Gunkel of Ottertail; and her loving cat Snickers; her nieces and nephews; along with many other relatives and a host of friends.

The Family also would love to extend our thanks and appreciation to Hospice, Thomas House, St. James Manor, Perham Health Nurses and Aides, Perham Health/ Sanford doctors, nurses. Rochester Mayo team that provided so much care for Cathy over the years.
