Carol Shelton Obituary

Carol Jean Schmatt was born to Charles and Blanche (Tanner) Schmatt on December 6,1927 in Iowa. She married Waymon Shelton and lived in California before moving to Minnesota.

She enjoyed her Church activities of being a Jr. Church and Missionettes Leader, decorating many cakes for others, and working with the mentally challenged.

On May 4, 2020 Carol passed away at Perham Living, in Perham, Minnesota. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Preceding Carol her in death are her Husband Waymon Shelton; her parents: Charles and Blanche Schmatt; 2 brothers: Charles Jr. and Edward Schmatt; 3 sisters: Francis Trefney, Audrey Ratzlaff and her infant twin sister; daughter: Karen Jean; son-in-law: David Fithen; grandson: Guillermo (Memo) Shelton; and her father and mother-in-law: Arthur and Lovitta (Ward) Shelton.

Carol is survived by her sons: Michael and James Shelton; daughter: Sandra Fithen; daughter-in-law: Janet Shelton; 5 grandchildren: Melissa (Warren) Baardsen; Ryan (Jessica) Fithen; Carrie Myers; Michael (Mellissa) Shelton; and Jennifer (Alex) Clement; 11 great-grandchildren; many other relatives and a host of friends.
