Carol Greenwood Obituary

Carol Ann (Chaska) Greenwood was born February 21, 1956, to Lynn and Helen (Hilgendorf) Chaska in Glendive, Montana. She graduated from Beach, North Dakota high school with the class of 1974. She enjoyed cheerleading for the Beach Buccaneers. Carol loved dancing, she with a partner entered amateur performances, winning various awards.


On May 17, 1975, Carol married Wayne Greenwood at St. John’s Catholic Church in Beach, and they resided in many locations of the Midwest, then settled in Dickinson, North Dakota where she was employed at Steffes Manufacturing.


Carol enjoyed remodeling the homes she and Wayne lived in throughout the years. Carol and Wayne later moved to Killdeer, North Dakota then Fargo, North Dakota and in 2022 they made their home in Wadena, Minnesota.


Carol loved her Catholic faith, her family and attending family reunions, watching HGTV, and going for walks with her "boys" the dogs Jake and Brewski.


Preceding Carol in death are her parents Lynn and Helen (Hilgendorf) Chaska, her daughter Valerie (Greenwood) Kilzer, her sister Helen Chaska, and her brother James Chaska.


Carol is survived by her husband Wayne Greenwood; her daughter Christina (Darren) Folkestad, her son David (Monica); her grandchildren: Johnathan Hilton, Jared Hilton, and Grayson Greenwood; her siblings: Dwight (Eileen) Chaska, Linda (Rick) Schmidt, Rodney (Lindsay) Chaska, Richard Chaska, Curtis (Cherie) Chaska, Jo Ann (Jeff) Kocher, Melanie (Darryl) Korczak and many nephews, nieces, and cousins.
