Brenda Marie Kohrs

Brenda Marie Kohrs, age 59, of Menahga, MN, passed away peacefully on June 17, 2024, surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer.

Brenda was born in Golden Valley, MN, August 18, 1964. She was a 1983 graduate of Menahga High School and a 1987 graduate of Moorhead State University. For many years, she worked in various clerical and retail positions. In 1994, she started her long-time employment at Lamb Weston-RDO where she worked for 29 years. She also was a part-time server at VFW Post 6206 Menahga for 22 years.

Brenda loved spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed reading, volunteering, shopping, traveling, cooking, and watching sports - especially racing of stock and sprint cars. She attended many NASCAR events with her husband, Tim.

Brenda lived by her motto of “Paying it Forward”. She volunteered for Hubbard County American Cancer Society Relay for Life, First English Lutheran Church and many other local organizations. She had a compassionate soul and was always willing to help others in need.

Brenda was preceded in death by her husband and soul mate, Tim Kohrs; mother, Yvonne “Sophie” Lent; and many beloved family and friends.

Brenda is survived by her daughters, Lauren Ohlgren and Allyson Ohlgren; granddaughter Sophia; step-children Tony (Maria) Kohrs and Samantha Kohrs; step-grandchildren Tre, Desarae, Brayden; siblings Brigitte (Dave) Norlander, Dan Lent, Roxy (Steve) Reining; nieces and nephews Ashley (Peter) Koskiniemi, John (Raquel) Beckenbach, James Lent, Jackson Lent, Tracey (Matt) Golden, Amber Engle and many other special extended family members and friends.

Memorial donations may be made to Menahga High School Dollars for Scholars Scholarship Fund.

Brenda and her family want to especially thank Essentia Health Frazee/Detroit Lakes, Essentia Health Oncology Fargo/Park Rapids, Park Rapids Infusion Center and St. Joseph’s Hospital for her exceptional care and support.
