Betty Ann was born on August 15, 1950 to Fordyce and Ethel (Hanninen) Crandall in Park Rapids, Minnesota. She graduated from high school and Wadena Technical College. On February 17, 1968, she married Jim Johnson in Watertown, South Dakota. Their union was blessed with three children. Betty loved to garden, tend to her flowers, and spend time with her family.
In Jim’s own words, “Oh precious Betty: Traveling through life with you has made us all stronger and better people. Your heart was sauna strong and overflowing with unconditional love. You will be dearly missed and until we meet again God bless and rest in peace.”
Betty is preceded in death by her parents; siblings: Stanley, Terry, Barry, and Tom.
Betty will be missed by her husband of 56 years Jim Johnson; children Craig (Leah) Johnson of Menahga, Minnesota; Mike Johnson of Smithfield, North Carolina; and Jackie (Brad) Carlson of Menahga; 10 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; sister Barb (Jerry) Bake of Blaine, Minnesota and brother Allen Crandell of Bradenton, Florida; many nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
A celebration of life service is planned for a later date with inurnment at the Menahga Cemetery.
