Audrey Hanson

Audrey Maxine (Whiting) Hanson age 85 of Henning passed away peacefully on June 29th, 2024 at Heritage Cottages in Park Rapids, MN. She was born August 8th, 1938 in Port Angeles, Washington to Archie & Marie (Peterson) Whiting. She was baptized at Grace Lutheran Church in Henning, MN.

She graduated from Deer Creek High School in 1956, and on September 5th, 1959 was united in marriage to Harry Hanson at Grace Lutheran Church, Henning, MN. They resided at several places, finally making their home on Marshall Avenue in Henning.

Audrey attended beauty school in Fergus Falls, MN. and was a teacher at that school for a time. She spent a few years working at the beauty shop in Henning and worked various other jobs in the area, finally working as an Avon lady for many years in Henning and the surrounding area.

Bowling was one of her passions and was on leagues for many years, receiving several awards. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, baking, and feeding the birds was a daily activity. Harry and she loved a night out dancing with close friends.

Audrey was a devoted wife for 63 years and a loving sister, aunt, cousin. She will be remembered for her wonderful laugh and a smile that warmed a room.

Audrey is survived by her sister Joan Fosse, brother David Whiting and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Audrey was preceded in death by her parents; husband Harry Hanson, brother Cody Whiting.
