Arnold McLeod

Arnold David McLeod was born on June 30, 1943 in Langdon, North Dakota. His parents were the late Gordon McLeod and Ruby Foisie (Thompson). Arnold lived in Hannah and Wales, North Dakota in his younger years, then moving to Grafton, North Dakota. On March 20, 1965 Arnold was united in marriage with Ida Thomasson at the United Lutheran Church in Cavalier, North Dakota. Their marriage was blessed with 2 children: David and Lisa. 

In 1966 Arnold and Ida made their home in Seattle, Washington where he was employed with Northwestern Glass Company. In 1981 they moved to Hewitt, Minnesota and Arnold was employed with Lund Boats in New York Mills, retiring in 2003. Since 2015 Arnold and Ida made their home in Wadena. 

Arnold enjoyed going to auction sales every Saturday. He loved spending time with his family and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Arnold and Ida have been long time member of the Assembly of God Church in Eagle Bend.

On May 6, 2021 Arnold passed away peacefully under the gentle care of Knute Nelson Hospice at 77 years of age. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Preceding Arnold in death were his Dad, Gordon McLeod; stepmother, Esther McLeod; Mom, Ruby Foisie; stepfather, Lloyd Foisie; sister: Deloris Heckle, Yvonne Herk; and brother, Eugene McLeod.

Arnold is survived by his loving wife of 56 years: Ida McLeod of Wadena; children: David (Jonnie) McLeod of Laurel, Montana; and Lisa (Rodney) Maloney of Deer Creek; 7 grandchildren: Casey Maloney of Deer Creek; Jason (Jess) Maloney of Deer Creek; Chelsea (Tim) Mindermann of Wadena; Caitlyn McLeod of New York Mills; Brenden McLeod of Eagle Bend; Hayley Maloney of Deer Creek and Christian McLeod of Laurel, Montana; 2 step-grandchildren: Jaden Ramirez of Laurel, Montana and Tayler Ramirez of Laurel, Montana; 11 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; brothers: Robert McLeod of Grand Forks, North Dakota; and Daryl (Lois) McLeod of Hannah, North Dakota; brother-in-law: Daniel Herk of Detroit Lakes; stepmother: Joyce Foisie of Walhalla, North Dakota; many other relatives and a host of friends.
