Arlan Kenyon, age 83, of New York Mills, Minnesota passed away on October 27, 2023, at his home. A Celebration of Life Open House will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. with Prayer Service at 3:45 p.m. at Central Haven Assembly of God in New York Mills, Minnesota.
Arlan Wenston Kenyon was born on August 12, 1940, to Harvey and Myrtle (Danielson) Kenyon in Menahga, Minnesota.
On July 8, 1963, Arlan was united in marriage to Barb Loerzel in Perham, Minnesota. Their marriage was blessed with four children: Ron, Jewel, Joel, and Gary; and one bonus child: James. Together they made their home in Minnesota, before moving to Wyoming for a year, followed by Oregon. They moved back to New York Mills in 1968 where they farmed for many years. In 1991 Arlan was self-employed as an over the road truck driver. He finished his career driving for Polman Transfer.
Arlan enjoyed hunting and bird watching. He had a great sense of humor, loved telling stories, spending time with his family, and cherished the time he had with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He loved playing cards with his family. Arlan was a child of God and spent time every morning reading from his Bible.
Preceding Arlan in death are his parents: Harvey and Myrtle Kenyon; son: Gary; grandson: Kyle; nephews: Doug (Scott) Wiese; Jason Wiese; and Tim Kenyon, Jr.; niece: Jennifer Loerzel; brother: Wenston Kenyon; brothers-in-law: Ben Loerzel; Gordon Ohman; and Steve Jaenisch; and father and mother-in-law: Ben and Violet Loerzel.
Arlan is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Barb Kenyon; children: Ron Kenyon; Jewel (Ron) Wacker; and Joel (Sandy) Kenyon; bonus child: James (Barb) Huisenga; five grandchildren: Joseph (Lindsey) Kenyon; Casey (Hilarion) Byer; Jesse (Amber) Kenyon; Cody (Skylar) Kenyon; and Nicholas (Mackenzie) Jennings; nine great-grandchildren: Timothy, Arlan, Chase, Wyatt, Wenston, Byron, Easton, Esther, and Ledger; siblings: Donna Ohman; Joan Taves; Bethany Saunders; and Timothy (Sandi) Kenyon; many other relatives and a host of friends.
