Ardyth Gretchen Kasper Corbin age 98, 11 months and 16 days of Menahga, Minnesota passed away on November 16, 2025 at Greenwood Connections, Menahga.
Ardyth was born at home in Windom, MN to Fred and Grace Kasper. At the age of 2, she relocated with her parents and brother Warren to a farm in Red Eye township in Wadena County.
Ardyth began her education at country school #45. She later graduated from Sebeka Public School with the class of 1944.
On October 6,1945 she married Duane Corbin in a private ceremony at her parents' home. In January 1946 the young couple moved to their lifelong home in Meadow Township where the family continues to enjoy time spent. Along with raising a large family, Ardyth enjoyed the outdoors, spending time with Duane working on the farm, four wheeling, gardening, traveling, camping, but most of all, spending time with her friends and family.
Ardyth was a long-time member of the Sebeka United Methodist Church. She was a very devote Christian and her faith was very important to her. In 1991 she and Duane went on a mission trip to Tennessee where they worked for a week helping impoverished local residents doing handy work and witnessing spreading the love of Christ. On the way home they realized they could do this locally at home in Minnesota. With the help of Pastor Dave Brown and parishioner Rich Perrine, STORM (Service to others in Rural Minnesota) Camp was born and based at Northern Pines Bible Camp in Park Rapids. Ardyth continued to give of her time for the next 27 years. She was also member of the Cat Creek Missionary Society, South Meadow Homemakers group, and as a Jr. Citzens 4-H leader. She served on the Meadow Township board as Treasurer for 33 years.
While Ardyth was a nurse's aid at the Green Pine Acres Nursing Home, she made the decision at the age of 50 to continue her education by attending Anoka Technical School and earned her LPN degree. After graduation, she gained employment at Tri County Hospital in Wadena, MN where she worked 17 years until her retirement.
Left to mourn her passing are her children: Jim (Linda) Corbin of Hermantown, MN, Connie Block of Menahga, MN, Carol (Mark) Moeller of Lakeland, MN, Donna (Chris) Dissmore of Menahga, MN Grace Kessler of Sebeka, MN, Elke Corbin of Blaine, MN, and Darrell (Janine) Corbin of Sebeka, MN. 20 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of extended family and friends.
Ardyth was preceded in death by her husband Duane, son Jerry, great grandsons, Layne and Elliot, her parents, Fred and Grace Kasper, brothers, Warren, Edward and Milford Kasper, father and mother-in-law, Harry and Vora Corbin, sister-in-law, Veita Lou Corbin, and son-in-laws, Bob Kessler & Dwayne Block.
