Anita Charlotte Murray (Ekman) was born on September 30, 1936, in St. Paul, and passed away on April 20, 2026, at the age of 89. She graduated from Johnson Senior High School with the Class of 1954.

Nina was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Laurine (Behling) Ekman; her brother, Robert David “Skippy” Ekman; and her sister, Barbara Wilkinson. She is survived by her daughter, Amy Carlson (Paige); granddaughters, Allison Pobuda (Joe) and Megan Agnew (Taylor); and four great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her brothers, James (Carol) Ekman and Owen Ekman; and her goddaughter, Kris Wheeler.

In accordance with the family’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded, and there are no formal services planned at this time. Burial of cremated remains will take place at the Ekman family plot at Union Cemetery in Maplewood at a later date.
