Andrew James Skytland

Andrew James Skytland passed away suddenly from a brief illness on July 19, 2025 in his home in Deer Creek, Mn. 

He was an only child born to Kathy and Wayne Skytland on December 4, 1986. 

Andrew grew up in Brooklyn Park, MN. He graduated from Champlain Park High School and went on to graduate with a Bachelor’s degree with Honors in Chemistry and Physics from Saint Cloud State University. While attending college he worked for a business and managed five stores.

He moved up to northern Minnesota to Deer Creek after he graduated from college to work for the summer at Grass Roots. There he built a community of friends and loved learning about the greenhouse operations from the owner Tom. His dream was to one day own and run his own greenhouse company where he could blend in his artistic abilities with his business knowledge. He also felt a strong desire to take care of his Dad who was disabled. That summer job turned into a love to stay in the country and not return to the city.

He is survived by his mother and father Kathy and Wayne Skytland, many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends who miss him dearly. He was a sweet soul who had a love of animals and also is survived by his dog Kallie, and cats Diva, Wobbles, Lilly, Buddy and Cheddar.

Service arrangements are being made for the Fall near Deer Creek, MN and will be announced at a later date to family and friends through Facebook.
