Albert "Al" Ringling passed away on January 15, 2026, in Bertha, Minnesota. He was born on February 27, 1936, in Warroad, Minnesota, to William and Hulda (Bauernfeind) Ringling.
Al graduated from Warroad High School and soon after entered the United States Navy. Following his honorable discharge, he returned to school and embraced a life of exploration, traveling extensively with his travel trailer.
He was first married and had two children from that union. Later in life, Al married Betty Jean Basher. Together, they shared 35 years of companionship before her passing. Al and Betty enjoyed a life on the move—spending their summers in Grand Rapids, Minnesota, and winters in Texas.
Al is preceded in death by his parents; wife; daughter-in-law Jane Rickbeil; son-in-law David Rickbeil
Al will be remembered by his children: Melody Stewart, Cheryl Tate, Blake (Dagny) Rickbeil, Timothy Rickbeil; nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
