Wayne Douglas Klovstad was born on August 26, 1946 in Fergus Falls, Minnesota. His parents were the late Lewis Caroll and Ruth (Bakken) Klovstad. Wayne grew up and resided his entire life on the family farm in Erhard. He graduated from the Pelican Rapids High School with the class of 1964.
Wayne was employed with the Holman Phone Company in Pelican Rapids for 20 years and Lutheran Social Services for 25 years. On August 10, 1989 Wayne was united in marriage with Connie Matti in Fergus Falls. They made their home on the Klovstad family farm where they provided adult foster care for 6 years and was also employed at Productive Alternatives in Fergus Falls for 3 years. In August of 2018 Wayne and Connie made their home in Otto Township, rural New York Mills.
Wayne enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing slot machines and spending time with family and friends. He also served as the superintendent for Tonseth Lutheran Church Sunday School for 2 years.
On March 2, 2019 Wayne passed away peacefully in his home at 72 years of age. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Preceding Wayne in death were his parents, Caroll and Ruth; siblings: Kermit, Robert and Kenneth; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Claretta and Gerald Matti.
Wayne is survived by his wife, Connie; children: Kristi (Tom); Julie; Kevin; Rusty and Laura; 3 grandchildren: Jesse & Joey Saunders, Raymond Matykiewicz and Adam Matykiewicz; 3 great-grandchildren: Drayden, Faythe and Rodney; his brother Percy and wife Claudia; many other relatives and a host of friends.
