Vivian Lorene (Porter) Olson

Vivian Lorene (Porter) Olson was born on December 11, 1936 in Deer Creek, Minnesota. Her parents were the late Hartzel William and Mertie Sarah (Lane) Porter. Vivian graduated from the Deer Creek High School with the class of 1955.

On June 13, 1959 was united in marriage with Ronald Aldo Olson at Grace Lutheran Church in Henning, Minnesota. They resided in Minneapolis for 2 years, returning to Deer Creek for a year and made their home in Wadena for 27 years and raised their family. Vivian and Ron have resided in Clitherall for the past 28 years.

On December 20, 2018 Vivian passed away at the Good Samaritan Society in Battle Lake at 82 years of age. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Preceding Vivian in death were her parents; 2 infant daughters: Brenda May and Linda Lou; sisters: Stella (Carl) Loween; Betty (Lawrence) Hansen; Doris (Nels) Edholm; brothers: Melvin Porter and Donald Porter.

Vivian is survived by her husband, Ronald Olson of Clitherall; 2 sons: Terry (Chris Peacock) Olson of Alexandria and Kevin (Rhonda) Olson of Dent; grandson, Robby (Tanassa) Olson, Perham; brother, Gerald (Peggy) Porter of Deer Creek; sister in-law Leona Porter, of Deer Creek and many other relatives and a host of friends.
