Violet Mae Haugo was born on April 11,1934 in Hamlin County, South Dakota. Her parents were Lewis and Selma (Dalen) Iverson. She attended Bemidji High School, graduating with the class of 1952.
On April 4, 1959, Violet was united in marriage to Oliver Haugo in Solway, Minnesota. Their marriage was blessed with two children, Brad and Bruce. Vi was a very gentle, loving and gracious person who never wavered in her belief in God and was eternally optimistic. She enjoyed sewing, playing piano, watching the birds and spending time with her family. She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Women’s Auxiliary, the Hopeful Homemakers Club, and was the longtime Treasurer of Leaf River Township. She worked at the David Paulson Agency for many years.
On May 31, 2019 Violet passed away peacefully at the Senior Care Center in Onamia, Minnesota with her loved ones by her side. She will be dearly missed by her loving family and friends. Preceding Violet in death are her parents Lewis and Selma; brother Bobby; and sister Dory.
Violet is survived by her loving husband Ollie; sons Brad (Kari) of Springfield; and Bruce (Heidi) of Elk River; grandchildren: Sara Haugo; and Justin Haugo; sisters: Bonnie Gilbertson of Barnesville; Lila (Harold) Moen of Brainerd; and Shirley (Joe) Gorg of Pequot Lakes; many other relatives and friends; and her special puppy named Lucky.
