Vernon C “Buster” Fiedler was born on September 17, 1928 in Dead Lake Township to Con and Sophie Fiedler. He grew up and attended school in Dead Lake Township. Buster served in the Armed Forces from March 27, 1951 until July 18, 1952. On June 4, 1956 he was united in marriage to Delores Lubitz at Sacred Heart Church in Dent, Minnesota. Buster was a “Jack of All Trades” he worked on the railroad and was employed at the Dent Equity, and Dent Triple Play Liquors; he was also self employed as a farmer, helping Delores with D’s Kitchen both at the Perham Sales Barn and at auctions.
His biggest adventure in the later years was hauling cattle for Perham Stockyards and the Fergus Falls Sales Barn. He was a member of the Dent American Legion. Buster was an avid card player, enjoyed Yahtzee. He loved making sausage, anyone was welcome to come if they wished. He also loved going to help other friends and family in their sausage making process. One of his biggest thrills and highlights in his life was going with Delores and his team of ponies in the many area parades.
Buster passed away at Frontier Manor in Richville, MN on Friday August 10, 2018 at 89 years of age. He will be dearly missed by family and friends.
Buster is preceded in death by his parents, Con and Sophie Fiedler; parents-in-law, Herman and Bertha Lubitz; his wife, Delores; brother, Lawrence Fiedler; 2 sisters: Bernice Waldorf, Sally Harthun; 6 brothers-in-law: Ben Warzecha, Stan Kidder, Joe Waldorf, Art Huwe, Elmer Lubitz, Vernon Lubitz; 3 sisters-in-law: Marlene Fiedler, Evelyn Huwe, and Helen Waldorf.
Buster is survived by daughter, Rachelle “Shelly” (Robert) Blauert; 2 grandchildren: Richard (Stephanie Myrick) Blauert; ReNaye (Gannon) van Dam; 1 foster great-grandchild, Jaiden; brother, Raymond Fiedler; 3 sisters: Elaine Kidder, Christine Warzecha, Marion (Joe) Jaroszewski; 2 brothers-in-law: Pete Harthun; Herb (Laura) Lubitz; sisters-in-law: Bernice Lubitz, Darlene Lubitz; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends.
