Shari Lynn Fresonke, age 58 of Dent, MN, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 27, 2018 at the North Dakota Veteran’s Hospital in Fargo. She was born in Pelican Rapids, MN on June 26, 1960 to Ervin and Avis Fresonke. She graduated from Perham High School in 1979 and spent over 24 years in the Air Force as both a Personnel Specialist and as a General’s Aide.
The Air Force took her around the world and she was stationed in Germany, England, twice in Korea and deployed to Kuwait. Stateside she was stationed in Virginia, North Dakota, Montana, Colorado and Illinois. She loved to travel and thought the military was a good way to see the world. One of her goals was to visit all 50 states, which she was blessed to do.
After retiring from the Air Force, she worked for Otter Tail County Veterans Service Office for almost twelve years and also for East Silent Resort for ten years. Shari was a proud member of the American Legion Haimerl Post #148 of Dent, Minnesota.
Besides traveling, Shari’s hobbies included reading, baking, cooking, photography, cross-stitch and spending time with family and friends. She loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and would say she is happy to be with Him now.
Shari was preceded in death by her father, Ervin; grandparents: George and Emma Grahn, and William and Lena Fresonke, and several aunts and uncles.
Shari is survived by her mother, Avis of Dent, MN; brother Grant (Susan) Fresonke of Ottertail, MN; Sheila Yanish (Mike Nelson) of South Haven, MN; nieces Elizabeth Yanish, Mercedes Fresonke and nephews Grant Jr., Matthew Fresonke, Dash Griggs and Daniel Yanish; numerous other relatives and many friends.
