Rozella Fayette (Key) Bagley was born on February 22, 1932 in Sauk Centre, Minnesota to the late Victor and Pearl (Houston) Key. Rozella attended and graduated from Sauk Centre High School in 1949. In August of 1949, Rozella married Anthony Schmiesing in Wadena. She was later divorced and moved to California. Rozella was later married to Matthew Bagley. After their marriage ended, Rozella returned to Minnesota where she raised her children.
Rozella worked at the telephone company as an operator in the early years. She then worked for her parents at Keys Café and Truck Stop. After her father died, she and her mother ran the business until 1986, when it was sold. Rozella then worked at Larry’s Foods until she retired.
Rozella was a wonderful care giver to all that met her and always made sure her kids had what they needed. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren brought her great joy, and she cherished spending time with them. Rozella was an active member of the United Methodist Church in Wadena for many years. As a faithful blood donor, Rozella was proud to give the gift of herself to those in need. She enjoyed working on puzzles, crocheting, playing cards and trips to the casino.
On August 27, 2019, Rozella passed away at The Meadows in Wadena, at the age of 87 years old. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Preceding Rozella in death were here parents; an infant son, Gary and a daughter, Vicki.
Rozella is survived by her daughter: Joyce Snyder of Sauk Centre; son: Kevin (Cheryl) LaBarre of Wadena; and granddaughter, Renee Roering; 3 grandsons: Jason Roering, James (Sara) Roering and Max (Brandi) LaBarre; 4 great-grandchildren: Dominic, Malachi, Corbin and Alex; brother: Kirt Key of Bullhead City, Arizona; numerous other relatives and many friends.
