Rolland Jackson Obituary

Rolland E. Jackson was born at home in Jennings County, rural Nebraska, Indiana.  The son of the late Virgil Raymond and Lavania (Hardin) Jackson.  Rolland served in the United States Navy on the USS Fiske, as a Radio Man 1st Class.  He retired from Cummins Engine Company in Columbus, Indiana where he was employed for 30 years in Research and Development as an Engineering Associate.  Rolland and Vickie made their home in rural Dent as Rolland was employed with BTD in Pelican Rapids and Detroit Lakes for seven years.  Rolland enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking and gardening.

On June 13, 2018 Rolland passed away at his home with his wife by his side and the gentle care of Knute Nelson Hospice at 75 years of age.  He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.  Preceding Rolland in death were his parents; brothers: Martin B. Jackson, David L. Jackson, Stephen C. Jackson and his sister, Linda Belle Brown.

Rolland is survived by his loving wife, Vickie Jackson of Dent; son, Charles C. Jackson of North Vernon, Indiana; daughters: Heather Cheesebrew of North Vernon, Indiana; Sarah E. Roggenkamp of New York Mills; Lavania R. Jackson of Dent; several grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; brothers: Wayne V. (Rebecca) Jackson of Elizabethtown, Indiana and Barry J. (Dana) Jackson of Dayton, Washington; many other relatives and a host of friends.
