Richard William Sibert was born March 10, 1947 at the Bertha Hospital in Bertha, Minnesota to the late Orey and Clara (Dilly) Sibert. He began his education, for two years, at a school in Idaho and attended Bertha-Hewitt Public School. Dick was united in marriage to Karen Riedel on April 27, 1968. This marriage was blessed with two sons, Chad and Brad.
Dick lived in the Hewitt area raising hogs for 33 years. He also operated various businesses along with farming. Dick quit farming in 1990 and began a career of over-the-road trucking for eighteen years, before retiring two-and-one half years ago. After retiring, Dick and Karen moved to Henning, Minnesota.
Dick’s interests mirrored his career choices. He liked walking his fields on the farm, road trips, outdoor grilling and vacations. Dick enjoyed Canadian fishing trips with friends and always seemed to catch the biggest fish. Deer hunting was another activity he enjoyed. Dick was an outstanding yardage shot. He shot many deer off his deck and always had bragging rights! Dick was a member of the Elks and Lions clubs.
On July 30, 2019, Dick passed away quietly at his home in Henning surrounded by his wife, boys and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son Wade Aaron Sibert; and brother Arnold Sibert.
He will be forever remembered by his devoted wife Karen Sibert, Henning; sons Chad (Rachel) Sibert, Cologne, Minnesota and Brad Sibert (special friend Ginny), Deer Creek, Minnesota; grandchildren: Morgan Sibert, Braeden Sibert, Makaylyn Sibert, Grace Matthisen, and Stella-Mae Sibert; brother David Sibert (special friend Shirley Kvasnik), Henning, Minnesota and many other relatives and friends.
