Pamela Jean (Faanes) Speed was born February 14, 1957 to Gerald and Luella (True) Faanes in Harlan, Kentucky. She lived in Gary, Indiana for a brief time, before moving to Minnesota. She attended and graduated from Chisago Lakes High School with the class of 1975. Pam resided in Colorado and then Minot, North Dakota where she was employed as a waitress. Pam was united in marriage to Brad Speed on July 20, 2002 at Nord Lake in Aitkin. She was employed with Charter in Wadena and Brainerd; Grand Casino Mille Lacs, as a waitress, but due to health concerns, she retired in 2010.
Pam enjoyed fishing, creating floral arrangements and loved shopping. She was known for her great sense of humor and her positive attitude. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. On Friday, June 15, 2018 Pam entered eternal rest at Abbott Northwestern Hospital, Minneapolis, Minnesota at 61 years of age. Preceded in death by step-father Gerald Fannes and aunt Sonja.
Survived by husband, Brad of Aitkin; mother, Luella Faanes of Forest Lake; step-daughters: Chris (Jason) Blair of Brainerd; Heather Spolarich of Aitkin; Monica (Scott) Duffney of Aitkin; son: Jeff (Shelly) Lund of Minneapolis; step-son, Craig Speed of Aitkin; sisters: Debbie Faanes of Wyoming, MN; Michelle (Steve) Bremer of Lake City; brother, Brian Faanes of Forest Lake; many other relatives and friends.
